Facial recognition startup preps for big year | Business Journal

Blue Line Security Solutions, a Fenton-based startup that has developed facial recognition software, expects to grow sales significantly this year as it expands its relationship with Swedish network video provider Axis Communications and continues to benefit from a growing number of municipalities and retailers trying to make their spaces safer.

Blue Line, which was founded by former St. Louis Police Major Joseph Spiess Detective and Tom Sawyer received a non-dilutive Arch Grant in 2014 to help jump-start the business.

“We quickly realized that we, as law enforcement, could tell people how much this technology could keep them safe, but we needed help on the business side,” Spiess said.

The company brought on former Mark Andy  CEO Paul Brauss to be its chief executive and hired George Michaels , a former Intel director, to be its chief technology officer.
